Taught by Shannon Hogarty

Materials, snacks, and beverages will be provided. Doors open 10 minutes before the workshop and close 5 minutes after we begin.

ABOUT THE CLASS:

Delve into the art of water carving to enhance your ceramic work. In this hands-on
workshop, you'll explore different ways of applying wax and water to greenware
to create unique textural effects that mimic natural erosion. You’ll experiment with
underglaze and slips to introduce contrasting colors and surfaces, pushing the
interaction between texture and form.
All skill levels are welcome.

Students will be provided with a bone dry porcelain cup and dish to decorate. Firing of the provided pieces is included. Students are welcome to bring their own bone-dry work to decorate, but firing of outside pieces is not included.

Students should bring:
- A couple of paint brushes you don’t mind getting waxy!
- Hand Towel
- Optional: Underglazes and/or slips of your choice, apron, notebook, additional bone-dry pieces (you must fire these yourself)
